What’s hot this week?

MUSIC

Koffee released her music video this week ft Buju Banton track name ‘Pressure remix’. The video references the ‘Black Lives Matter’ Movement and the current protesting happening around the world. The song is talking about how people feel under pressure from various reasons and hoping for a better day. This song will have you paying attention to the message without making you feel panicked about current situations. This song is currently on repeat for me.

TELEVISION

The British talk show ‘Loose women’ has received praise for bringing diversity to the panel on October 22nd 2020 ITV, by having these four black women ‘Judi Love, Brenda Edwards, Kelle Bryan and Charlene White’. A lot of Black women (including myself) felt refreshed and happy to see representation that we can identify with on our morning television line up. You can call this an iconic moment because they spoke on Afro/Caribbean culture and how they were disciplined as children. It was definitely a trip down memory lane and a peak into black culture if you haven’t been brought up within black culture. I do hope that Loose women will continue in this direction of including more diverse panel members.

FILM

Horror movies to watch this coming Halloween:

ANTEBELLUM

  • Antebellum: Starring Janelle Monae who plays a successful author named Veronica Henley who finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late. This movie is a must watch for Halloween as it includes horror and mystery perfect for keeping you on the edge of your seat. If you haven’t already seen it then your movie choices for fright night just got interesting.
  • Released: 18th September 2020

SPELL

  • Spell: Starring the iconic Loretta Devine. A man crash lands in rural Appalachia and awakens in the attic of a traditional Hoodoo practitioner (Loretta Devine). He desperately tries to break free from her dark magic and save his family from a sinister ritual before the rise of the blood moon. After watching the trailer alone, I was scared out of my mind and I cannot wait for to see the full movie on Amazon Prime this coming weekend. Make sure you have your snacks; I know I will.
  • Released: 30th October 2020
